Build Community – Acts
Today, some people think of the church as a powerless institution made of ancient traditions and stuffy buildings.  They’re wrong!  The church is the new community of God’s people.  It’s filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.  And it has as much to say to the world today as it did two thousand years ago.
In Acts, you will discover that God wants to do a fresh work among his people by the power of the Holy Spirit.  You will find the pathway to authentic community.  You will learn how to grow as a worshiper.  And you will deepen your passion to invite others into the fellowship of Christ-followers we call the church.  Sound exiting?  Let’s rediscover church together!

Connect with God – Sermon on the Mount 1

The Sermon on the Mount reveals the heart qualities God desires in you.  Learn the importance of unpretentious prayer, faith, and giving.  Find out Jesus’ prescription for worry.  Discover what it means to live for God’s approval only, and other secrets to cultivation a relationship with him that brings joy to you both.

Cover to Cover – Getting the Bible’s big picture
What do we have to gain from those long Old Testament sections on the law?  What about all the history?  What can we learn from Paul’s letters to the church in the New Testament?  By introducing each of the major sections of Scripture, this guide helps us gain perspective on the whole message of God’s Word.

Finding God – How can we experience God?
There are lots of places to look for God – like relationships, nature, goodness and even our own pain.  Sometimes we have that sense that God is real.  But we can’t quite get hold of it.  And then we may wonder if God even wants to be found.  This discussion guide explores the following paths to God.
Relational Path: Can I find God through relationships?
Nature Path: Can I find God through nature?
Morality Path: Can I find God by being a good person?
Pain Path: Can I find God through my pain?
Mortality Path: Will I find God in life after death?
The path of life: What happens after I find God?
In these pages you will find you opportunity to find your way to God.

Following after God – What difference does God make?
Sometimes we try to separate our personal beliefs from our actions and choices.  It’s easier – and more fun.  But eventually that way of life starts to feel hypocritical and dissatisfying.  This discussion guide addresses the following real-life questions.
How does believing in God affect my everyday life?
How does believing in God affect my purpose in life?
How does believing in God affect how I view people?
How does believing in God affect my morals?
How does believing in God affect how I pray?
How does believing in God affect my financial world?
Here’s an opportunity to discover how to line up faith and life in a way that will help you feel whole.

Spirituality – What does it mean to be spiritual?
Many of us have tried various spiritual activities – church services, meditation, nurturing our souls through listening to spiritual teachers or reading books by those who seem to be ahead of us.  And yet we feel empty.  We have questions like…
  What is spirituality?
Do all religious leaders say basically the same things?
How do I find what works for me?
  What’s so unique about Jesus?
Why is it so hard to stay spiritually focused?
  How can I pray?

Study Methods – Experiencing the power of God’s Word
Just as a carpenter needs the right tools to do accurate work, you need certain tools to do fruitful Bible study.  This guide will help you learn how to use concordances, character study and so on – that will reveal the truths of God’s Word.  With these tools and methods at hand, you will handle God’s Word with confidence and anticipation.

Times & Places – Picturing the events of the Bible
Sometimes when you see a place for the first time, your whole perspective on it changes.  That is just as true for our understanding of the Bible as it is in other aspects of our lives today.  This guide helps you picture the places referred to in the Bible and to work through a time line of important events.  As you fill out your mental image of these important times and places, your understanding will grow.

Transparency – Discovering the rewards of Truth-Telling
The path to satisfying relationships is clear.  And rarely taken.
We all long for close relationships.  Bonds so secure that we can be completely honest and vulnerable.  But often, we keep our relationships at a safe – and shallow – level.  We avoid the risk of revealing all that’s in our hearts.
God wants us to take that risk.  His reward for doing so is the satisfaction of true, deep community.  If you’re ready to experience that joy, Transparency will help you move beyond your fears into the realm of knowing others and being known by them.  Each session will carefully assist you in peeling away the disguises that prevent you from being your truest, freest self.  Get ready for a life-changing adventure in developing richer, more meaningful relationships with God, with others, and with yourself.

The Five Love Languages
Are you and your spouse speaking the same language?
People express and receive love in different ways.  Dr. Gary Chapman identifies these as the five languages of love:
Quality Time * Words of Affirmation * Gifts
Acts of Service * Physical Touch
If you express love in a way your spouse doesn’t understand, he or she won’t realize you’ve expressed you love at all.  The problem is that you’re speaking two different languages.
Perhaps your husband needs to hear encouraging words, but you feel cooking a nice dinner will cheer him up.  When e still feels down, you’re puzzled.  Or, maybe your wife craves time with you – time away from the kids and television.  The flowers you gave her just don’t communicate that you care.
